The Site

Surrounding Context Plan
Site Location Plan

The site is located to the south of harvest Hill Road, close to the junction with Oaklands Grove.

The site is part of allocation AL13 in Windsor and Maidenhead’s recently adopted Local Plan, meaning it has been identified in planning policy for certain uses.

Our Design Approach

Indicative House Types

The proposals are being designed by OSP Architects, who specialise in sustainable residential developments and conservation work.

The site is committed to meeting the Council’s net zero carbon policy, and air source heat pumps will be provided.

The project includes a mix of housing – from 1 bed apartments up to 4 bed houses – to ensure different needs are met.

The proposed height of the buildings has been informed by studying the surrounding area, with houses a maximum of 2 storeys, and two 3 storey apartment blocks.

The apartments will be located near to the southern site boundary to take advantage of the natural sloping of the site and minimise overlooking.

Indicative House Types

The development will also include:

  • Public footpaths
  • Public open space
  • Protection of existing mature trees
  • A courtyard provided for the apartments
  • Parking spaces and garages integrated into the layout

Landscape and Environment

Landscaping is central to the proposals as we aim to create a natural, welcoming environment by retaining existing mature trees on the site and providing public open space. There is a green buffer to the south of the site that will connect to wider green space, giving the ability to connect with forthcoming adjacent developments.

We are also seeking to increase the ease of access to the site by creating new cycling and walking links through the site and to the wider area, as well as new vehicle access from Harvest Hill Road. This will be coordinated with adjoining landowners to ensure a wider cycle network is created.

Harvest Hill House and Grove House will remain, including their access points, ensuring continuity and integration with the existing residential area.
